Hi everyone, welcome back! So we’re almost a week into January, and I’m curious about something. Will the teddy bear jacket trend continue in 2019? And if it does, for how long exactly? Teddy bear jackets blew up immensely in Autumn and Winter of 2018, where the weather was too cold for comfort, and in no time we saw teddy bear jumpers and scarves make an appearance.
The History of Teddy bear jackets
Just like most trends that blow up, the teddy bear jacket has always been around. In 2017 teddy bear jackets were also a huge thing, although is it just me, or do you not remember this happening? But before 2017, these jackets date back years and even decades! For example, in 2013 Kim Kardashian was caught wearing an ankle length teddy bear jacket, on not one but two occasions.
Styles of Teddy Bear Jackets
Teddy bear jackets also come in many styles. I believe it first started as a bomber style jacket and it very quickly evolved into pile jacket, pea coats and many more styles. I can guarantee you’ll find one of these various styles in your favourite high street store. Here are a few links to some I think are worth buying.
So unlike most, I jumped on the bandwagon rather late and the thought occurred to me that I could literally be wearing this jacket for a week, as the trend has died down. I know what some of you may be thinking, ‘who cares whether the trend has died, you do you boo!’, but I don’t want to be rocking clothing that is ‘sooo 2018’. How many of you are with me?
Although saying this I have already seen many people wear these jackets, both men and women, this year, so hopefully the trend doesn’t die down too soon so I can get at least a dozen more wears out of my own!
Anyways I hope you enjoyed this rather short post, if you did be sure to check out my future posts. I post every Tuesday and Saturday so check out my blog on those day!
