Hey hey hey, welcome to Kiarna Montana. To kick start the new year I’m going to share my new year goals and tips on how to achieve them if you have the same.
Everyone sets new year goals, but how many actually stick to them? I’ve made it a goal this year to follow these resolutions throughout the year. I’ve also started making monthly goals, which I will most likely share with you also. My two main resolutions are most likely the most common amongst everyone; save money and lose weight.
I find it incredibly hard to save money, as do a lot a people. Somehow we just find unnecessary crap to waste our money on. So this year it’s my mission to save as much money as possible! My goal, however, is at least £600. In order for me to to do this I’ve started a challenge.
The 1p Saving Challenge
The idea behind this challenge is to increase each day by 1p. So on the first day you save 1p, the second you save 2p, the third you save 3p and so on. And in 365 days you would have saved a whopping £667.95. Obviously it gets more challenging when you have to put £3 something in the jar for a period of time, but it’ll all be worth it in the end. I use a template I made, which you can find on my Pinterest account here.
Meal Prep And Buying In Bulk
As a student I’m always buying myself lunch from the closest Tesco or Sainsburys, this costs me around £10 a week, £40 a month. I could save a fraction of this price by preparing my own meals. Also I’m always in need for a bottle of water, so I pop to the local corner shop, where they charge me at least 70p, but why not buy a 12 pack of water for £2? This definitely makes more sense.
Other ways I’m saving money is by putting spare change in a money box and trying not to spend money on unnecessary items, like makeup items I won’t use often, clothing I know I’ll only wear once and avoiding eating out a lot and buying takeaway, which leads me perfectly onto my second resolution.
My second main new year goal is to reach my target weight this year. Again this will be a very common resolution for most, that again only lasts a month or so. The best way to combat resolutions only lasting a month is to not start it in January, but to start it months before, in December or November. I know this is impossible to do now, but at least you know for next year.
Going To The Gym
I started going to the gym last year and so it’s not too much of a task for me anymore. But my advice for anyone who is struggling getting to the gym is to JUST DO IT. I sound like a Nike advert. I know, I know, easier said than done but once you get into the routine of doing it, the struggle will go away.
I eat wayyyy too much junk. This needs to stop… ASAP! I’ve been on Youtube searching healthy meals and desserts that I want to try. Once I find my go to healthy meals I will deffo share them with you.
Thank you so much for reading, if you want an update on my resolutions, deffo let me know! x
